๐ Access to Beaches: most beaches are public, and even if there is a hotel, you can swim and walk along the shoreline, but there are rare cases where access may be restricted by the hotel.
๐ด Palms: most beaches in Mauritius are covered with coniferous trees rather than palms. In 99% of cases, palms can be seen only in parts of the beaches located near hotels.
๐ What to Bring to the Beach: snorkeling mask, special coral shoes, drinking water, hats.
๐ Sunday: Sunday in Mauritius is an official holiday. Locals traditionally spend it on the beaches: arriving with their families, having picnics, playing ball, setting up tents. On this day, relaxed beach time is hard to come by.
